You may have been hypnotized by the enemy. You are comfortable and have cleared out a nice little spot for yourself. You want to think you are covered enough, but in your heart, you know you’re not.
You’re not drawing near to God.
You’re not making any difference in the lives of others.
You don’t have the power of Christ in your life.
You may think, “I go to Sunday school every Sunday. I pay my tithe.” You may even sing in the choir. You may dust your hands off and say, “There, I’ve done my part. What else is there?”
If the enemy has you that comfortable, are you really engaged in the war going on around us? There is no doubt that he’s probably struck you with a flaming arrow that anesthetizes you into thinking that your job is done. You’re comfortable, standing still as the battle goes on around you. In all circumstances, every single day, the enemy will do all he can to stop you from moving forward. He never takes a day off. He may start by suggesting that you believe you are a pretty strong team member because of the list you checked off above. In fact, God’s lucky to have you on His team, isn’t He? Do you see the hypnotic traps? And it can start with good things. But as you sit there proudly wearing your attendance medal you are not engaged.
You will not win the battles you do not fight.
If the enemy has you standing there flat-footed, comfortable, and anesthetized, you are believing a lie of flaming arrows. He has you standing still. So, he may leave you there frozen for a bit, but he will be back sooner or later. Will you wake up and build armor?…and move forward?
