Can you look the enemy in the eye and say NO?
We need to be shield up to extinguish the flaming arrows of the enemy. We should sense the thud on the other side of the shield.
Can you hear the sizzle of the flaming arrows being extinguished by your belief in the One who saved you? By telling satan NO?
You may be thinking, “This building armor seems like a lot of work. I could move around better without armor on. I’m more agile. I can dodge the arrows. Right?”
So, how is that working for you now?
Putting Belief into Words
As you sense arrows screaming as they descend on you, and you then feel them pierce your spiritual flesh, you know you have not extinguished them with the shield. The question then becomes, “Can you extinguish flaming arrows without words?”
I don’t think you can.
You have to know what you think, believe what you think, and be able to state what you believe to the enemy…. Christ did.
Remember, Jesus did. Eve did not.
We do have the Holy Spirit. We have Jesus who intercedes for us. But that is not an excuse to be lazy and just send up flare prayers when flaming arrows land. When I sense an arrow land, or one coming at me, I state my case in personal pronouns. With my mouth I confess (agree) about what I believe. When you became His, when you believed, you believed with your heart that Jesus is Lord. You then confessed (agreed) with your mouth (out loud) that Jesus is Lord. That is what Paul says in Romans 10:9–10. So, if God wants you to say it out loud, He is asking you to say it like you mean it.
Jesus did not stutter when He addressed satan after the forty days in the wilderness. You shouldn’t say what you believe as a whisper. You shouldn’t say it like you are still unsure. You shouldn’t say it jumbled up and forget the main thing you believe. You can’t say nothing, and just stand there and let the arrows land. Well, actually you can. But our point here is that you shouldn’t. You should verbalize what you believe in a pointed statement to the enemy.
My suggestions:
- Know what you believe.
- Be able to state it clearly.
- Say it out loud.
